Microcredencial universitaria en CIVIS – Digital Humanities for Renaissance Studies (Ed. 1)

PRESENTACIÓN

The program blends acquisition of knowledge and use of already available digital projects and resources on Renaissance (Module 1) with the acquisition of applied digital skills for conducting new and creative analyses on topic of choice (Module 2).
Ongoing digital projects on Renaissance culture developed by Sapienza University will partner with this microcredential. Among stakeholders are museums and Net7Italy (software designing company on Cultural Heritage) and Art Safari (art gallery).

OBJETIVO

This interdisciplinary program aims to integrate Digital Humanities with Renaissance studies and facilitate the students’ transition from traditional study to digitally assisted research.

PROGRAMA:

There are 2 Modules (M). Each one contains 3 Learning Units (LU). Each LU counts for 1 ECTS and 25 hours workload. The LUs from M1 and M2 are paired and run (synchronous contact hours) for about one month each pair.

Module 1 (integration of available digital projects and resources with the students’ approaches and interpretations)

  • LU1a Digital projects and available resources for Arts and Literatures (ex. https://www.archivirinascimento.it/)
  • LU1b Digital projects and available resources for Cultural Heritage (CH) and Languages (ex.https://www.europeana.eu/en)
  • LU1c Special Topic. Agents of inter-cultural exchange in Renaissance.

Module 2 (producing their own digitally assisted analyses and tools)

  • LU2a Text analysis tools and assisted programming with Google Collab for Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks (processing, clustering, classifying, NER, Sentiment analysis etc.)
  • LU2b Data analysis for Humanities with Python

DÍAS, HORARIO Y LUGAR DE CELEBRACIÓN:

  • Días: Each Friday from 17 April to 17 July
  • Horario: synchronous – from 2.5 hours up to 3.5 hours each week; asynchronous – permanently available
